Cardiovascular Program

Heart beat starts as an electrical impulse from the SA Node and spreads to the rest of the heart over specialized fibers, causing a heart beat. Disturbances of heart rhythm occur when heart attack or genetic abnormalities affect the ‘wiring system’ of the heart.

Over the ensuing years this subspecialty of cardiology developed the techniques of treatment of heart rhythm disorders. These included treatment of abrupt rapid palpitations using radiofrequency energy (ablation). The procedure entailed insertion of catheters in the heart to diagnose and treat the condition

Specialized catheters are inserted from arm and leg to various parts of the heart for diagnosis and ablation treatment of the heart
